Product of the Week

Merry Christmas my fashion friends!!!

I hope that the big guy spoiled you rotten this Christmas, and that you are somewhere warm and comfy taking in the holiday cheer.

This week I wanted to introduce you to a designer that produces warm, comfy and stylish  furs to wear for winter. The company is called Enchanted Designs, and they are a really cute husband and wife team from Surrey, BC, that sell fur vests and jackets... I know what you're thinking FUR???  yes it is real fur, but it is all made using recycled garments that they buy at auctions, thrift stores and private sales.  They feature "one of a kind refashioned vintage furs made into wearable art".

I bought myself a white fur vest for my birthday, which I absolutely love.

What I really like about their garments is that they are all very unique and come with hand painted designs on the inside so that they can be reversed.

Check out more of their garments at enchanteddesigns.ca, and if you see something you like just shoot them an email.

Once again Merry Christmas, and get to bed early tonight for some reckless Boxing Day shopping!!

Come back Wednesday to see some sparkle for the Clarisky Piece of the Week.

Piece of the Week

Last week was glitter so naturally this week is lace!

For this week's Piece of the Week I present to you.....

The Tasty Lacy Skirt

I made this skirt for my secret santa recipient, because I knew she had been wanting a lace skirt.  So I found the perfect pattern of lace, and died it the perfect shade of pink, put a soft black elastic band around the waist and thought I made it fit just right.  Fortunately unfortunately, contrary to my belief, the skirt did not fit just right and this little lace baby had to come back home with me.  Back to the drawing board. Luckily I had just enough room for the skirt to live comfortably in my closet. I promised her a new lace skirt in the new year.

Hope you are having a wonderfully crazy holiday shopping week, and that Santa brings you all the fashion pieces on your list!  If you are still looking for a stocking stuffer for a fashion friend pick up some Violent Lips, they will love them!

I will be blogging from Ireland next week hoping to find some Irish themed Product of the Weeks. A device that  makes your boyfriend speak in a sexy Irish accent perhaps?

Merry Christmas, and I will see you Sunday for the Product of the Week!

Product of the Week

Since I'm jetting off to the the land of green, leprechauns, and the four leaf clover for the holidays, I decided to share with you a little packing secret for this week's Product of the Week.

Here is the dilemma:

Get the contents of this closet

Into this bag

Just kidding! Into these two bags

Not much better!!  However, with these shrink bags it is almost possible

Before
After

They are called Space Bags and they look like normal zip lock bags, but unless you were looking to keep your clothes fresh and free from freezer burn, regular zip lock bags are't gonna cut it.

These bags have a zip lock closure on the top and a special seal on the bottom that lets air out, but not back in.  You do not need a vacuum, they are reusable, and they are easy peasy  to use.

Step 1: fill the bag.
Step 2: roll the bag starting from the zip lock end squeezing any access air out .
Step 3.... oh wait that's it.

Now you have a shrink wrapped closet.... Awesome!

I picked these bad boys up at Ross (insert jingle here) when I was in the States for $4, but I have seen them at Winners and at the As Seen on TV store in the malls.

Hope this helps you in your holiday packing and ensures that you have the most fashionable trip, filled with all the clothing options possible!!

See you Wednesday for the Clarisky Piece of the Week.

So for the first official Clarisky Piece of the Week I've got a fun Holiday Budget Auction (see below for details) featuring......

The Sequin Flirt Skirt

Since "sequins are soooo in right now"  I made a super flirty, flapper dress inspired, sequin skirt perfect for any holiday party!!  I made one for me of course, but then I thought, given it's Christmas time, why not make one for YOU too,  so I did!

Product of the Week

Hello, Hello fashion lovers.

Today I bring you a special product blog post crafted just for you!  This product is going to blow your fashion brains and make your life a whole lot easier... In the spirit of keeping with the theme of "things that stick to your face," today I present you with ColorOn Professional Instant Eyeshadow... that's right  INSTANT.

These eye shadow appliques come in a variety of colors and patterns, and have a similar temporary tattoo idea...I  repeat similar! They are by no means a tattoo, but rather mineral makeup, pre-applied to an eye lid shaped applique that you simply press on to your lid ... Voila!

                                                                                           photos: http://www.coloronpro.com/

I LOVE these things. They totally saved my behind in Vegas.  Yes I am a sucker for easy makeup that sticks to your face, but truth is I am also terrible at applying eye shadow.... I just never got the hang of it. Now I can achieve that perfect smokey eye without having it look like I got punched in the face....you know exactly what I mean.
They actually work surprisingly well, and I would definitely recommend them.

They come on these appliques and you can use them more than once. I am on my 3rd use with some of them and they still work great.  They include setting powder as well so once you have sort of smudged the color a bit and have touched it up to how you want it, you apply the setting powder and the color stays all night.

I bought these from the ColorOn Pro website, but it was definitely a hassle, and pricey to get them to Canada.  I am told that they sell them at Sephora, but I have not been able to confirm that.  So far buying them from the site is the only way, but I'm working on it.  If you are interested in this craziness, which you totally should be, message me and I may just be able to hook you up. cgallacciodesigns@gmail.com

You can catch a bit of the eye action in this photo... as well as lip action!  Also this pic from a previous blog post shows some as well.

What do you think? Could you rock this eye phenomena?  Pin It

Runway Rundown - Vancouver Fashion Showcase Part 1

Alright since I hassled everyone's fb pages enough last week, I thought I would give your news feeds a rest this weekend.

However, I did promise to give you a rundown of the runway from the Fashion Showcase event that MW and I attended on Thursday, as well as some pics from the closing gala event on Sunday.

Let me start off by saying that this was a fabulously organized event it, and it was an absolute pleasure to be able to attend.  The evening was super glamourous, and it was wonderful to see local designers and boutiques being featured on the runway.  To top it off proceeds from the event went to  Dress for Success!

Now for the good stuff....

To start the evening off, Megan and I decided to do the rounds backstage, and check out how the male model department was looking.....

Lucky for us we found our favourite male model Jordan, no last name necessary (or shirt for that matter).  You may have seen his studly body featured in MW's blog post back in November.  Now if you have ever seen any pictures taken of Megan, you know that she almost always rocks the more stoic/person of importance look, but here we see a big shiny smile on her face....wonder why!! Of course I was jealous MW got to take the picture with him, but I got the better view!

After we recovered from our male model coma, we settled into our seats for the runway show... here are some of my favourite looks from the show

love love love the neck line on this party dress from Holly Boutique.

This sheer maxi skirt from JennyFleur Loves may have just been my inspiration for a killer New Years Eve dress... stay tuned to see what I come up with.
Also Love the embellished headband!

One of the Art Institute students really impressed me with this structured number.  I think the contrast of solid colours and patterns really works.

After all of the fashion fun, we took a rest on the giant pop chip bags... kinda want one in my house!

All in all it was a solid Thursday night filled with fashion, male models, and pop chips.... come back tomorrow for part two of  the rundown of the Fashion Showcase runway, where I will feature pictures from the closing gala on Sunday night.
